HipHop In the Park
On May 1st in People’s Park in Berkeley, Ca.
I only caught the last hour!
Blue Scholars:
I only wanted to see Blue Scholars + Rocky Rivera. They are Filipino/a Americans that have made it in the music game. I like that they have so much swag, but at the same time referencing their history and their struggles as Filipino/a Americans and addressing their experiences in their music. It means so much that they make sure that their stories and the stories of those before them are HEARD and known. In my opinion, that is the BEST form of success. To educate, inspire and acquire that cash.
It’s quite effective to teach history through hip hop and music, compared to a simple history lecture. For example,
