Then you don’t have fun. You stay at home and study all day. FALSE.
When I was in High School people never thought that I could have fun, or even swear. But in reality, I did everything and more then what they could ever imagine. At my high school, when an typical Asian American person say ‘FUCK’ and they’re not the Asians that try to be like them (African Americans) they get all shocked and stuff like those words are restricted from us. And the fact that they expect every Asian person to be scared of them. Crazy right?
So, my senior year, I got to know a lot of Latinos, and African Americans. And I told them that I had a party to go to or something, and they would be like ASIAN GIRL? ! PARTY?! Like the world party shouldn’t even be part of my vocabulary.
I never really understood why they would freak out all the time, but I hung out till late night in the streets, I partied, I did stuff that I shouldn’t. but because I’m Asian, I’m suppose to be an angel, with all the perfection every parent and teacher wanted.
As they became my closer friends, I told them that it’s just the teachers that were prejudice. THEY were the one that made them believe that Asians were the best students, and that they would never get in trouble.
I’m pretty sure a lot of you went through this in middle or high school. I had lots of fun shocking people, I just hated that they don’t think that I live in the same society that they did.
